The PurePods Story

Thoughtful Design

PurePods was born from a deep love for nature and a desire to share that connection in a way that’s truly unforgettable, a deeply personal, immersive eco-travel experience in Pure New Zealand.

Located in some of the most breathtaking and private locations in Aotearoa, PurePods offer access to untouched landscapes, native birdsong, star-filled skies, and complete serenity. Staying in a PurePod means slowing down, switching off, and fully engaging with the natural world.

A Unique Experience

Every day, nature puts on a spectacular show and your PurePod is your luxurious front-row seat. Built almost entirely from glass, these eco-friendly cabins allow you to sleep beneath the stars, wake to golden sunrises, and surround yourself with panoramic views.

Even with the doors closed, you’re never shut off from nature. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls and a glass ceiling bring the outside in, from mountain peaks and rolling hills to ocean vistas and forest glades.

Each PurePod is designed to immerse you in nature while offering the comfort of a luxury stay. The stillness, the privacy, the beauty. It’s an experience that grounds you and reconnects you with nature.

Sustainable Practices

At PurePods, sustainability has been at the heart of our story since day one. Founded by Grant Ryan, who grew up in rural New Zealand, the vision was to create a deeply immersive way for people to connect with nature. Each glass eco-cabin is designed to tread lightly on the land while offering total comfort, using solar power, biofuel heating, and a water treatment system that returns clean water to nourish native vegetation. Off-grid and thoughtfully designed, our PurePods reduce light pollution for uninterrupted stargazing and use only biodegradable cleaning products with no single-use plastics. Every aspect is engineered to minimise environmental impact without compromising the guest experience.

Conservation

We partner with landowners passionate about conservation, helping expand native bush, reduce stock grazing in sensitive areas, and restore biodiversity. A portion of our founding profits goes to The Cacophony Project, a groundbreaking initiative using technology to make New Zealand predator-free and bring back the birdsong. At a number of our PurePods, guests can also take part in local conservation by planting a tree or donating directly to projects that support the flora and fauna of the surrounding area. We make it easy to stay eco-conscious during your stay, with waste separation systems and an ethos of respect for the land woven into every experience. At PurePods, we believe in keeping New Zealand pure and sharing that joy with every guest who walks through our (glass) door.
